Ways to Give

to London Community Chaplaincy

Our agency depends on the donations and support of individuals, faith communities, service clubs, and other community grants. Our staffing and programs fluctuate according to the gifts we receive.

There are a multitude of ways to contribute to the work of LCC:

Financial Contributions

Our agency depends on the financial donations of individuals, faith communities, service clubs, and other community grants. Our staffing and programs fluctuate according to the gifts we receive. Regular donors are appreciated for planning, and budgeting purposes. Donations of any size are welcome and essential to our ongoing service. Donations can be made by cash, cheque or through the Canada Helps link on our website.

Our Annual Walk-A-Thon in October is an easy way to donate by sponsoring a walker. In December, our Angel of Hope campaign is our major fundraiser. In spring, we host a country themed family oriented event to assist with the cost affiliated with summer programs.

A receipt will be provided for donations of $20 or more.

Transportation (Bus Tickets, Volunteer Drivers)

Bus tickets are always helpful, especially for adults.

Volunteer drivers are needed to transport adults to the grocery store or food bank usually around the 15th and again towards the end of the month.

Volunteer drivers are also needed in the summer to take children to local day camps or numerous residential camps outside the city.

Food, Diapers, Personal Hygiene Products

LCC stocks a small food cupboard for those times when families simply have nothing to eat. Many of our families experience food insecurity 1 or 2 weeks of the month. School lunches and snacks are always needed. Simple meals for supper are provided through our “meal in a bag” offering.

Personal hygiene items, especially for women, or toilet paper are welcome when supplies run low at home. Diapers of all sizes and baby food are a frequent request.

Fresh food and vegetables are a real treat. It is best to bring those products early in the week so they can be distributed as quickly as possible. We do not have storage for fresh foods.

We have capacity to store a small amount of frozen meals or meat to supplement the food cupboard.

Please contact us if you an item to donate.

Donations of household or clothing items

We are unable to store furniture but from time to time are able to connect a family in need with a larger item (e.g. bed, couch) if delivery can be arranged. These items are always appreciated so please contact us if you have a good quality item to donate.

The Free Store collects small household items and clothing that are available to the community members approximately every 4-6 weeks. Clothing in good condition for men, women and children of all ages is appreciated. But these must be delivered to our off site contact as we do not have the capacity to store them. Please contact us if you an items to donate.
